The Face Shop Fresh Jeju Lotus Soothing Gel: Review

Hello Everyone,
My beautiful fellow blogger Clara and her blog have influenced me to try K-Beauty products and I have started my first purchase with the Face Shop Fresh Jeju Lotus soothing gel. I’m using this gel since a month now on a daily basis. The reason behind this purchase is definitely Clara as I said and secondly when I went to shop online from Nykaa, I have seen many products, so was a bit confused, so I played smart and bought this. And now I’m kinda obsessed with this and wishing to buy more k-beauty products later on. So let’s start today’s review.

INR: Rs.490/- for 285ml.

Packaging: The gel is packed in a huge, literally huge tub with screw open lid. There is an extra tray lid under that. A lotus motif is printed on the whole body which makes it so beautiful by itself. It is not more than any cute show piece or home decor. Necessary information is written in Korean language as well as in English on the tub. I find that the lid doesn’t not close properly, so carrying this huge tub won’t be that comfortable.

My view

It is a clear thick gel with soft, smooth texture. Consistency is exactly like aloevera gel. Texture and consistency are so gorgeous that when I shook the container, the gel inside start wobbling just like a jelly and this was quite satisfying to watch. I know, it may sound wired, but sometime I did it before applying. (hehe crazy me). This gel has very strong artificial kind of fragrance but not something unbearable which I didn’t expect. If you are really sensitive towards strong fragrance then this might give you a headache. The smell lingers for some time after applying and slowly fades away.
I generally apply it at night after cleaning and toning my face. I took a small amount and applied to my face; massage it in circular and upward motion. As soon as I applied it, the gel just melted down and became more liquid-y. So it easily spreads on the face and really a tiny amount is required to cover full face and neck. It took times to get all absorbed. Sometime I just applied it and let it to be soaked by itself, no blending and no rubbing. It gives an instant cooling and relaxing feeling. After fully penetrates into the skin, it leaves my skin more soft, supple and hydrated than before. Next morning I woke up with healthy looking, plump and bouncy cheeks.
One thing that I like to mention is I just use it in my own way like a hydration boosting night treatment. But it is not really meant for that. One thing that kept in mind is it is not working on wrinkle or fine lines or not going to reduce signs of aging. It can be used just as calming or soothing gel that gives you a boost of hydration every time. You can use this gel any time of a day or after coming from the sun to cool the burning down. I think this way it would work best.
My rating: 4/5.
Where to buy: you can buy online at Nykaa. (this is now available at 30% off discount)

Final verdict: When I applied it, I just felt that a water bomb just has blasted on my face. It cools my skin, soothes and makes me more relaxed. If you are looking for something for your dehydrated, dull, lifeless skin, then this is the product. I would highly recommend this moisture bomb to everyone. If you are asking me if I repurchase it! Then my answer is yes, I’m going to purchase it for life.
